This report reflects the impact of racial nationalists and the respective ideology in post-Maidan Ukraine. The report defines radicals not only in terms of their participant in political movements and parties considered extremist (the Right Sector, Svoboda Party, and Social-National Assembly), but also on the bases of their statements and activities. Following the coup d’état, snap parliamentary and presidential elections, radicals integrated into the system of government bodies of the country thus gaining a significant influence mostly on law enforcement and defense (the Ministry of the Interior, Security Service of Ukraine and Armed Forces of Ukraine). BYSHOK, Stanislav Olegovich is a political analyst, graduate of the Psychology School of Lomonosov Mos- cow State University, author and coauthor of books on contemporary Russian and Ukrainian politics, student of Ukrainian nationalism. Radical nationalist sentiments have become the political mainstream supported by Ukraine’s leaders, while the media consistently form a negative image of not only Russia, but also all political and social forces within Ukraine that are suspected in pro-Russian or just not enough patriotic views. Opposition attitudes towards the group of people who came to power after the Maidan often serve to show one’s “involvement” in work “on Russia.” Residents of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass have been dehumanized and demonized through mass media. VALYAEV, Evgeniy Yuryevich is a lawyer, graduate of Law School of the Tax Academy of the Russian Federation under the Ministry of Finance, political analyst, student of Russian and Ukrainian politics.
