This conference continues a long line of general CV-s conferences, the last of which took place in Oxford (UK). These conferences bring the community together about bi-annually, provide a forum for disscussion, and do a great job of enticing cooperation. With 183 participants from 30 countries, this conference was one of the largest CV conferences, ever, reflecting the increasing interest in the physics of accreting close binaries, their rich phenomenology, and the many unsolved problems. An early decision was made to concentrate on the relatively small number of invited and contributed talks which were all restricted to the same length of 30 minutes,-all other contributions were deferred to posters, it allowed to reserve time for prearranged and free discussions and for poster sessions. To broaden the view, the physics of related objects such as low-mass X-ray binaries and super-soft X-ray sources, where simular processes take place, were included also. Two sessions were dedicated to the physics of outflows and the physics of novae and sources radiating at super-Eddington luminosities.
