  INVITATION FOR 2019 SONGSHAN FORUM Dear Professor CHUMAKOV Alexander On behalf of Professor Tu Weiming, Director of the Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies at Peking University, we cordially invite you to participate in the 8 th Session of the Center of Heaven and Earth ( Forum on Chinese and Other World Civilizations which is to be held on September 21 22, 2019 in Dengfeng, Henan Province, China The forum is co hosted by the Institute for Advanced Humanities Studies a t Peking University, the China International Culture Exchange Center, and the Henan Foundation for Inheritance and Innovation of Chinese Historic Civilization. We believe that your expertise in this field will greatly contribute to the success of the forum Under the rubric ‘Dialogue among Civilizations and the Human Future’ t he forum includes two panel discussions ‘Cultural Criticism and the Human Future’ and ‘Cultural Identity and the Human Future’ and one thematic discussion ‘Empathetic Rationalit y and the Human Future’ The O rganizing C ommittee of the forum would like to invite eminent scholars who have deeply engaged in dialogue among civilizations and new humanism from all over the world to share their thoughts and exchange their views. If yo u are able to attend as we very much hope, we w ould appreciate a reply by June 20, 2019 (see Letter of Confirmation attached) Please also send us a provisional title and abstract of your contribution before August 20, 2019 Full p aper draft s will not be presented at the Forum these will be circuluated in advance among participants (p resenters will speak for about 20 minutes to summarize the contents of their papers The proceedings of the Forum will be submitted to the O rganizing C ommittee and published by Guangming Daily Press in Beijing. Final versions of the papers are due by November 30, 2019 The working languages of the f orum are Chinese and English; simultaneous interpretation will be provided between the two Travel expenses including e conomy class air tickets) and hotel accommodation will be met by the Forum budget.
