The first international workshop on morphology, taxonomy and systematics of Neotropical Mantodea will be held at the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA) in Manaus, Brazil, from the 25th to the 30th of April, 2017. With an ever-growing number of Latin American students and young professionals interested in conducting research on praying mantises, this workshop seeks to create a space for sharing information, promoting discussion, and highlight research trends and needs between established experts and the new generation of researchers. Encouraging collaboration among colleagues, and building new expertise on Neotropical Mantodea, are thus the main long term goals of this initiative
