  The aim of the workshop is to gather scientists with interest in electron and ion emission from non-metallic needles under high electric field and/or laser illumination. A special emphasis is given to the study of optical and electrical properties of diamond nano-tips, in order to understand their field emission behaviour (with and without the ultra-fast laser illumination) and the ion evaporation behaviour in laser-assisted atom probe. New emission and evaporation models or the new experimental analyses to better characterize this field emitter are also central topics of discussion of this workshop.
