  The meeting is organized to celebrate the successful activity of professor Pietro Fre as a leading scientist, novelist and man of culture, and as a very effective scientific counselor at the Italian Embassy in the Russian Federation for eight years. Pietro enlightened contemporary theoretical physics with his studies of modern field theory and quantum mechanics. He has been a master for two generations of scientists, showing with his own life how science can be effectively integrated with the other branches of human culture. He has also greatly contributed to the exchange of ideas, researchers, students between Russia and Italy, and has opened new ways to the scientific and technological collaboration between the two countries.
