Geometric spectral theory focuses on the properties of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Laplacian and other differential operators defined on geometric objects, such as Riemannian manifolds and Euclidean domains. Many problems in the field are motivated by questions originating in the study of real life phenomena: quantum-mechanical effects, vibration of membranes and plates, oscillations of fluids, etc. The goal of the workshop is to present the latest research in geometric spectral theory, as well as to generate a stimulating atmosphere, leading to new insights and results. Main topics include: quantum ergodicity, geometry of nodal sets, eigenvalue estimates and spectral asymptotics.
