  The importance of vortex flows and vortex models is recognized at both fundamental and applied levels of fluid dynamics. The 6th International Conference on Vortex Flows and Vortex Models (ICVFM Nagoya 2014) will be held at Nagoya, Aichi, Japan from November 17th to 20th, 2014. This conference takes over the tradition established by the successful meetings commenced in Kobe in 1999 and continued in Istanbul (2001), Yokohama (2005), Daejeon (2008) and San Leucio (2010). The objective of this conference is to explore vortical flows by discussing the new developments in the mechanics, the physical models, and the engineering applications.
