We analyze the variability of ultraviolet (UV) radiation at ground within the wavelength range 280-400 nm. A comparison of the vertical profiles of direct and diffuse UV radiation has been performed by various methods (8-stream discrete ordinates method and the delta – Eddington method, which is used in INM-RSHU chemistry-climate model) using broadband and high spectral resolution approaches. According to the results of the comparisons of different RT methods we estimated effective ozone absorption cross sections for broadband simulations. The estimates of the contribution of direct and diffuse components in global UV radiation at ground were obtained at different zenith solar angles and various aerosol content of the atmosphere. The variability of the direct to diffuse UV radiation ratio is discussed under different atmospheric conditions. This work was partially supported by the RFBR project #15-05-03612.
