In the course of our latest investigations, Ce4Ru3Ga3 compound was synthesized. The synthesis by arc melting of the elemental components with subsequent annealing at 600 C was held. The intermetallic Ce4Ru3Ga3 crystallizes in orthorhombic unit cell of new structural type: space group Pnna, Z=4, a=7.719(4) A, b=18.578(12) A, c=5.673(3). Strcutural model obtained with single crystal experiment was also cinfirmed with Rietveld method refinement. One of ruthenium atoms forms with cerium atom unusual short distance of 2.7167 A. The cerium atom adopts intermediate valence state, which is confirmed by experimental L3-Ce XANES spectroscopy data. the average valence of Ce in intermetallic Ce4Ru3Ga3 is about 3.19at 7 C.
