Due to its unique properties, nanodiamonds (ND) are believed to be a very promising material for biological applications. One of the novel types of ND with specific electromagnetic properties is boron doped nanodiamond (BDND), synthesized by the method of HTHP. Because of its high mechanical strength, excellent thermal stability, and extended lifetime, BDND is an efficient metal-free catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction, which plays an important role in the creation of biosensor. This work presents the results of study of the influence of BDND on hydrogen bonds of different protonic solvents. The interactions of BDND nanoparticles (with 7-8 nm size) with solvents molecules were studied using Raman and IR spectroscopies, correlation spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. On the base of the obtained results, the mechanisms of the effect of BDND on the solvent matrix were proposed.
