The new principle of sample return mission - the kinetic geophysical shuttle (KGS) - was proposed in [83- 85]. This principle is based on usage the high-speed penetrator (HSP) with the return capsule (RC) placed in the inner channel of HSP. When the HSP penetrates the soil, the RC moves to the HSP nose and collects the soil sample. After the elastic collision the RC moves back and takes off the surface having the velocity magnitude close to magnitude of HSP impact velocity and the counter velocity direction. The new space probe category requires the new approaches to the trajectory design. The Moon looks like the most appropriate target for such kind of mission. Lets consider the lunar sample return mission using this hardware.
