Introduction of functional substituents into NB or/and CO blocks can be used to impart useful properties to their copolymers (Fig.1). A range of multiblocks differing in the length of a linear segment between double bonds was obtained using PCO (C5, C8, C12). We studied the kinetics of the polymer cross-metathesis between PNB and PCO derivatives by 13C NMR and monitored the transformations of Ru-carbene active centers in the reaction mixture by in situ 1H NMR spectroscopy. The effects of functional substituents in PNB or PCOs, as well as of the length of CO monomers units, on the rate of their cross-metathesis were investigated.
