Plant cell culture is an experimentally created population of somatic cells and discussed to be one of the way of important raw material obtaining, in particular for medical purposes. Plants of Polyscias genus for a long time are favour among the tropical countries people as drug and additions for food. The P. filicifolia plant cell culture was obtained in together research of “Biofarmtoks” GmbH and the Institute of Plant Physiology of RAS. The strain biomass is used as a source for biologically active additives “Vitagmal” production. The P.filicifolia extract contains triterpene glycosides. A range of effects of this extract was shown: For example, the antiteratogenic, antimutagenic, antibacterial, tonic, cardiotropic and other effects. P. fruticosa, the closely-related to P. filicifolia species, is also a medicinal plant, but it is less researched, than P. filicifolia. It’s well known, that each obtaining of plant cell culture is unique. In our research the new strain of P.filicifolia was obtained. Also the P.fruticosa cell culture was obtained for the first time. The formed leaves of the medium stage were used as explants. It was shown, that the best way of obtaining the Polyscias suspension cell cultures is the direct way (first-hand from explants) of obtaining. By this way several well growing, high vitality suspension cell cultures of each species were obtained, whereas there were not obtained any suspension cell cultures from calli. While researching the officinal plant cell cultures the question about quickly biological activity estimation of their extracts is fundamental. In the present research the biological activity of plant cell extracts by the way of influence on animal cell culture proliferation was investigated. The new Polyscias cell culture exstracts and an extract of the collection strain were taken. For a comparing the Panax japonicus cell culture extract was taken. The extraction was led on a shaker at 26°C for twenty-four hours. As an animal cell cultures the 3T3 and jurkat cell lines were used. At first we investigated all the extracs effect on all the animal cell cultures proliferation. The absence of extract influence on the cell growth was shown. The scheme of following experiments was like that. As a result of led experiments the both extracts effect on the animal cell culture proliferation at the optimal growth condition was not discovered. However the both Polyscias species cell culture extract displayed the protective effect under the toxic stress and under the low temperature influence. Thus, it’s possible to use an animal cell culture for an estimation of plant object extracts adaptogenic activity. The obtained results are preliminary and need in following research.
