Interfacial properties of heterojunctions formed of organic molecular and polymer thin layers have a profound impact on optoelectronic device performance. In particular, organic PV cells are based on conventional either bulk or planar donor-acceptor heterojunction. Incorporating nanosize particles in between such two layers can provide and improve the efficiency of free charge carrier generation. In the report, the photogeneration of charge carriers due to influence of (1) plasmonic Au nanoparticles and (2) graphene nanostacks are considered as well as appropriate mechanisms of the influences are suggested.
