In the light of the Russian Federation international obligations and measures to abate GHG emissions contained in the Paris Agreement, the upgraded methodolo-gy of calculating the sequestration capacity of Russian forests has been developed and discussed. Serviceability of the methodology and computer program demon-strated by the example of coniferous-broad-leaved (mixed) forest zone of the Euro-pean-Ural part of Russia. Comparative analysis of carbon stock in the biomass ac-counted with the developed technique with State Forest Inventory data on perma-nent sample plots performed. Carbon stock in biomass in the tested area designed on technique accounted for 78,59±28,29 t C/ha and according to State Forest In-ventory data on permanent sample plots was 88,91±35,61 t C/ha. Ambiguity eval-uations at a confidence interval of 95% is 36,7% and 41,23% respectively. The re-sults of carbon accumulation and carbon balance assessments presented on the maps.
