Few layers graphite fragments seem to be very perspective carbon nanomaterials due to their ability to be easily functionalized. Their defectiveness and a great amount of edge carbon atoms lead to a bigger rank of heterosubstitution and oxidation in comparison with MWCNTs. It became necessary to find a universal parameter that is applicable for the characterization of FLGFs and draw some parallels among them. Because of the sensitivity of the heat of combustion value to structure features, defectiveness and heteroatoms quantity in material it appeared to be a desirable one.
