Marsh frogs Pelophylax ridibundus were introduced to Kamchatka peninsula about 30 years ago. Now there are multiple populations with strong founder effect and supposed high frequency of tetraploid specimen in some of them. Moreover, some microsatellite loci in the same specimen can indicate diploid genotype and some – triploid and tetraploid. As shown in the work of Hermanjuk et al, 2013, in diploid organisms the height of the peak may differ less than twice, and only large differences allow one to speak of the presence of several copies of one allele. Thus, we can reasonably assume that some individuals have 4 alleles of the Res22 locus characteristic of P. ridibundus. Of the 24 individuals examined, 7 were tetraploid at the locus of Res22, 2 - triploid and the rest were diploid. The allele concentration in diploid organisms was sometimes the same as the concentration of the allele in tetraploid, indicating the true diploid nature of this individual.
