The report was divided into two parts with two corresponding presentations. First one introduced the audience to the instruments of performative analysis of the photographs from the ethnographic expedittion (Orenburg Virgin Lands, august 2017). The way typical situations of interaction in photographic practices are shaping the vision and image. The role of respondents' self-presentation, the mediatory role of the agents of the field. The second part narrated about memorialisation process and nowadays memorial phenomena concerning Virgin Lands Campaign. Local people's museums, monuments, decor, handwritten books and journals and so on. The way respondents present themselves as virginlanders visually: award-suits, newspaper cuttings, memorial objects from the district and regional celebration of anniversarries, photoalbums.
