Methods of THz and IR spectroscopy are used in the study of tris(hydroximethyl)aminomethane and its complexes with crown ether. The spectra of complexes containing protonated and unprotonated tris are compared. Crown ether strongly interacts with the protonated tris, and the complex with unprotonated tris exhibits domain structure.
