The region of Greenland, Irminger and Labrador Seas is an area of deep convection, which maintains Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). Freshwater flux to the area might be one of the key factors controlling the intensity of deep convection. In this study we investigate sea ice input in the freshwater balance of the region between 1978 and 2016. A time series of sea ice volume and velocity from Pan-Arctic Ice Ocean Modeling and Assimilation System (PIOMAS) were used to investigate interanuul and seasonal variation of the parameters. The analysis revealed periodicities on the time scales of ~3 and 6-8 years in the Greenland Sea ice volume and 8-10 years in the Irminger and Labrador Seas ice volume. The 6-8 years cycle in the Greenland Sea is shifter by half of a period relative to the 8-10 years cycle in the Irminger and Labrador Seas. The periodicities in sea ice volume were compared to NAO, AO and AOO indexes.
