From the viewpoint of the typology of perfect verb forms, the Classical Armenian perfect may be placed at the beginning of the perfect continuum, though with some obvious deviations from the resultative prototype. This is mostly evident in contexts where the meaning of the perfect can be better described as experiential rather than resultative, i.e. where it describes not the state resulting from a telic process, but characterizes the subject as a participant in a given situation (or a number of similar situations) in the past.
