Volgograd Region is located in the south of Russia; it includes Pallasovsky Area, which has a boarder with Kazakhstan. Up to the 18th century Kazakh people were the nomadic population of this area, since the end of the 18th century, on an invitation of Ekaterina II, the areas were inhabited by the Germans–gernguters. Nowadays the population is constituted of Kazakhs (45%), Russians (45%), Chechens, Tatars (10%). We have conducted a research of inter-religious relations in March - May of 2013. The research consisted of three parts – mass survey (V=150), expert survey (V=15), interview (V=15). During the research it was revealed that 56% consider themselves to be believers, and the religious identification matches the national identification: Russians identified themselves with Orthodoxy (72%), Chechens and Kazakhs – with Islam (95% and 92% correspondently), Germans – with Lutheran (53%). Witnesses of Jehovah have the highest level of religiosity (86% weekly visit the community), orthodox and muslim-Kazakhs have the minimal level of religiosity (about 2% in each community). Inter-religious conflicts have place not between the representatives of Islam and Orthodoxy, but between muslim-Kazakhs and muslim-Chechens, that is explained by the specific of the Islam regionalization.
