Hybrid bionanomaterial comprised of Enhanced Green fluorescent Protein covalently bound to 20 nm thick perforated Al film has been created. The short-ordered arrays of nanoholes with diameter in range 60-120 nm have been fabricated using sparse colloidal lithography. By changing the diameter of the nanoholes, the plasmon-polariton frequency has been tuned across the spectrum. The strongest plasmon-enhanced fluorescence has been observed for the systems with 120 nm nanoholes, reaching the 2.75 enhancement factor.
