We present current progress of our research pri=oject. Allometric relations and tree stand models created for central Kola Peninsula for spruce, pine and burch have errors within 15-40%. More UAV data and automated ground surveys are required to validate MODIS LAI and GSV products. Preliminary maps of MODIS LAI and GSV trends created, have been created, validation and deeper analysis are in progress. Comparable climatic datasets are being compiled. We are developing validation and scaling-up techniques (ground data to MODIS) and planning ground data collection in Kola Peninsula, NW Russia (pine, spruce, birch and mixed forests), and in Sakha, Eastern Siberia (larch forests) in 2019, in a form of a field school for young scientists.
