In order to analyze photosynthetic membranes of cyanobacteria the Thylakoid membrane model (TM model) was adjusted and used to study fluorescence induction data from the wild type Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 (Synechocystis) cells. Fluorescence induction curves were measured with actinic light in the μs-to- 10 minutes time window as well as from the μs- to 2 seconds and reproduced by TM model calculations. For the photosystem II reaction center of Synechocystis the electron transfer parameters differ from those of higher plants. The nature of OJIPSMT curves induced by either high or moderate light was analyzed due to simulations of light-acclimative processes: state 1→2 and state 2→1 transitions.
