A series of laboratory experiments for modeling of the fluid activated failure was carried out in the Institute of Physics of the Earth using the standard equipment designed by the Russian company "INTERUNIS" for nondestructive testing of industrial facilities. The quality of the location of AE events in these experiments found be worse in comparison with experiments used the specially designed acoustic sensors. The investigation of the possible sources of the inaccuracy of AE event locations was carried out. It was found, that the main source of location inaccuracy is the systematic error in the estimate of wave first arrivals due to the resonant irregularity of the frequency-response curve of acoustic sensors GT-200 and GT-300. The criterion for the rating of location are proposed for the creation of AE catalogue. The special technique is designed for measuring of location errors using reed switches as sources of the standardized acoustic signal.
