The supported bimetallic palladium-indium catalytic systems are considered as promising catalysts for a selective hydrogenation of triple bonds. Their enhanced ethylene selectivity is explained in terms of formation of intermetallic compound with isolated palladium atoms. Surface and bulk structure of bimetallic catalyst is crucial to its catalytic properties. The comprehensive study of stability and conditions of phase transformations of PdIn is important to ensure high catalytic activity and selectivity. The aim of this work is investigation of phase transformations of PdIn/Al2O3 catalyst under oxidative and reductive treatments by in situ XAFS and DRIFTS.
