Pyrolysis of oil sludge and distribution of pyrolysis products were investigated with use of the fixed bed laboratory retort system, as well as by the method of synchrotronous thermal analysis (TD-DSC), combined with FTIR spectrometer. The results showed that in the presence of CaO during the pyrolysis of sludge, the acidic components of the vapor-gas mixture are bound, thus it is possible to purify the resulting liquid products from sulfur compounds.
