Geosynchronous magnetopause crossings (GMCs) were analyzed for 15 magnetic storms occurred during the current 24th solar cycle in 2011 – 2018. The crossings have been identified with using high-resolution magnetic data acquired from GOES geosynchronous satellites. Solar wind conditions were accurately determined for the crossings with using data acquired from upstream solar wind monitors. That made possible to compare the observations with predictions of various GMC models. It was found that GMCs occurred often during moderate or even weak magnetic storms with minimal Dst > -50 nT. The model predictions of GMCs in the present 24th solar cycle have been compared with predictions performed in the previous 23rd solar cycle. The differences in predictions are figure out and the reasons of differences are discussed.
