Franchising as a business model was developed more than 150 years ago and since that time has proved its efficiency in the business world. Nevertheless, franchising appeared in Russia only in 1990s and hasn’t become as popular as in the USA and Europe. The research is focused on opportunities and weaknesses that this business format has in our country. Based on timeline, sector and factor analyzes, the report would be of interest to students specializing on entrepreneurship economics and potential franchisees willing to buy a franchise.
