The synchronous activity of brain neurons occupying the Y region is characterized by the distribution of the current dipoles q into Y. It induces an electromagnetic field. This field is recorded on the surface X of the patient’s head, which allows determining only a priori possible significantly different distributions of the electromagnetic field. Each such electromagnetic field corresponds to a certain function f in the region Y, and the desired distribution q satisfies an integral equation of the 1st kind in the region Y with the Newton kernel with a given right side f. This equation has a unique solution q containing a delta function on the boundary of the region Y.
