Stability parameters of pure zinc methanesulfonate (288.9 ± 0.2 °С and 34.1 ± 0.3 kJ/mole), ice freezing point depression and eutectic temperature (-9.6 ± 0.2 °С) in H2O – Zn(CH3SO3)2 system were determined by DSC method. Formation of previously unknown crystallohydrate Zn(CH3SO3)2·8H2O (Tm = 25.5 ± 0.3 °С) was revealed. Salt solubility was measured in the temperature range -5 to 60 °С. The phase diagram was assessed using Pitzer- Simonson-Clegg model for liquid phase.
