Liquid crystalline (LC) polymers containing photosensitive azo-benzene groups are perspective systems with controllable properties that can be used for data storage, as actuators, optical systems parts, etc. It is well known fact that the structure of such systems can be changed by external influences such as thermal factor and ultraviolet light. This changes can be related to photoinduced molecular isomerization. The goal of this work is setting the link between physical structure and physical properties and preparing new functional materials based on this fact.
