It is commonly recognized that news texts comprise the basic structure of all media discourse, serving as pillars that provide supporting constructions for all other media texts. Medialinguistic approach to the analysis of news discourse begins with understanding what factors influence the formation and functioning of the information flow. The best way to do this is to apply the information model, introduced by Dobrosklonskaya T. in her doctoral thesis in 2000, which helps to structure the unceasing news flow and other media activities into separate but interrelated stages. Information model consists of the following stages: 1) selection of facts for further news coverage, 2) interpretation of events, 3) creating images, 4) forming stereotypes, 5) cultural-ideological context.
