Network approach in Economics makes it possible to model economic relationships not only taking into account their scale and dynamics, but also with regarding the underlying topology. Thus, the main aim of this research is to define the characteristics of the wood trade network. To achieve these goals criteria of average shortest path, density, number of strongly connected components and reciprocity has been evaluated on the international trade data of raw, processed wood and finished wooden products. The results incline that a)the network becomes more complex and dense during the analized period, b)the network resistance towards crisises increases with the growth of goods technological complexity, c) the more sophisticated products are traded, the less fragmented network becomes.
