One of the "mega-scale" issues of mankind is to support its sustainable development when human activity preserves the biosphere by organizing the economy in the way not going beyond the limits of ecosystems’ carrying capacity. The sustainable development closely depends on the land use practice and intensity, nature conservation and people well-being improvement. The Baikal region could be considered as a model one of the huge world significance. The projects implemented in this region by the Fund for Sustainable Development (Moscow, Russia) with financial support of USAID were devoted to sustainable healthy community and people well-being development based on land and other natural resources’ efficient usage.
