Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) was used as a new tool capable to distinguish state of aggregation in dry and wetted ND materials and to follow changes in this state under different types of treatment. Based on DSC data we improved dispersity of existing ND materials and isolated samples with the best possible DSC parameters. ND samples with maximum achievable ΔT = 20 K was produced. It was monodispersed and consisted of narrow fraction of primary particles with d = 3nm. Extraction of isolated ND particles with the small diameters gave poor yield, revealing narrow size distribution of primary particles in detonation synthesis.
