We report geophysical effects produced by interaction of fast magnetosheath plasma streams, so-called jets, with the dayside magnetosphere. The jets were observed by THEMIS satellites in the dayside magnetosheath during a quiet day on 12 July 2009. The geophysical effects were analyzed using low-altitude polar satellites NOAA/POES and a ground network of magnetometers SUPERMAG. It was found that the jets resulted in the following effects: dayside magnetic perturbations visible in Dst and AE indices; and penetration of suprathermal particles from the magnetosheath into the magnetosphere with subsequent precipitation to the auroral ionosphere and upper atmosphere.
