Observations of individual supernova (SN) in the gamma-ray line emission is one of the most interesting scientific undertaking of the gamma-ray astronomy. Such observations may allow for the direct study of the nucleosynthesis process in SNe by observing gamma-ray lines from the decay of the radioisotopes produced. The imaging Compton telescope COMPTEL on-board of the ComptonGamma-Ray Observatory (CGRO) is capable of detecting gamma-rays in the energy range of 0.7530 MeV with an energy resolution of 9.7% (FWHM) at 1 MeV. For both Type I and II supernovae, the gamma-ray lines with the highest flux from an individual event are expected at the 0.847 MeV and 1.238 MeV lines from the 56Ni->56Co->56Fe decay chain. The maximum flux of the 0.847 MeV line expected from the deflagration Type Ia supernova is ~(6+-3)x10*(-3) d*(-2) Mpc photons cm-2 s-1. At such flux value this line is detectable by COMPTEL telescope up to the distances of ~10 Mpc. ...(Abridged)
