In work processes dilatometric studies shrinkage ceramic composites based on solid-solution powders of 70 wt.% MoSi2 and 30 wt.% WSi2 ((Mo,W)Si2), obtained by SHS in ISMAN RAS with reinforcing additive 1 to 15 wt.% α-Si3N4. It is shown that the sintering initiation temperature is shifted to higher temperatures with increasing content of silicon nitride in the matrix (Mo,W)Si2. The linear shrinkage increased of a sample with increasing consentration α-Si3N4 addition, e.g. for the composite (Mo,W)Si2 + 1 wt.% Si3N4 shrinkage is 6.75% of the original dimension and (Mo,W)Si2 + 15 wt.% Si3N4 is 20.21%. Conclusions about the optimal conditions for sintering composite ceramics with a density close to the theoretical.
