The empirical study is devoted to occupational and organizational specificity in potential stress factors and coping means. The main aim – to investigate the subjective evaluation of the stress factors and mental state (MS) dynamics, and to describe the individually dependent preferences in coping means. In the study 66 employees were involved (all women, age from 19 to 48). The results show that in general employees describe the stress causes typical for state office work: poor salary level and job conditions, improper equipment functioning. The MS level is viewed as shifting to non-optimal to the day end because of the fatigue symptoms accumulation. Some differences, connected with the two principal directions of job tasks content (meeting taxpayers and working with documents), were found between employees of various tax departments with respect to the main stress factors and MS changes evaluation. As the preferable coping means an appeal to different means of social support from colleagues was discovered.
