Electrochemical processes involving conducting organic materials (e.g., electrochemical synthesis of conducting polymers) are frequently accompanied by the bulk transport and recombination of electrons and holes. Properties of the recombination process are important for the proper understanding of the overall electrochemical behavior. Recombination of charge carriers in amorphous organic materials is still not fully understood. we consider the effect of the correlated disorder on the recombination rate constant. It turns out that the rate constant could be both smaller or greater than the corresponding Langevin value depending on the nature of the disorder.
