Stable start and operation of engines based on fuel cells at temperatures of 243 - 273 K is impossible without the presence of a source of hydrogen with a pressure above 1 bar in this temperature range. To optimize the process of selecting compositions that meet the specified conditions, a statistical model [1] was used to predict the thermodynamic parameters of hydrogen desorption reactions as applied to hydrogen sorption alloys of the AB5 type. The selected compositions were characterized by XRD and EDX methods, and isotherms of hydrogen desorption by alloys were plotted. The thermodynamic reaction parameters calculated from the isotherm data using the van't Hoff equation were compared to those calculated in statistical model. The good correlation of results indicates the applicability of the model for predicting the thermodynamic parameters of the reaction with hydrogen of AB5-type alloys.
