The materials based on aliphatic polyesters attract significant attention due to their biodegradation. The ring opening polymerization (ROP) initiated by metal complexes is the widely used method for the synthesis of such materials due to reproducibility and reaction control. The search for new active initiators for ROP is the actual problem for modern organometallic, polymer chemistry. In this work we have obtained: 1) series of Zn, Al, Ti complexes based on polydentate ligands (type 1). The structures of the compounds were investigated by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis. These complexes were tested in ROP of lactide and caprolatone; 2) complexes of Zn, Al containing fragments of unsaturated alcohols (type 2). These compounds were used as catalysts in ROP of cyclic lactones. The fragment of unsaturated alcohol is transferred to the end of polymer chain, giving macromonomers with high degree of functionalization. ID 393/FP-4.1; book of abstracts, p.113
