The attempt of incorporating sustainable land management (SLM) paradigm in the climate change (CC) adaptation discourse raises several questions: Are there appropriate terminology and methodology? Are the dominating concepts, hypotheses, visions, statements and imperatives related to this issue scientifically justified? What are the fundamental interrelations between desertification/land degradation (DLD), CC, disasters, and their risks? The conclusion is made on the perspective use of the land/ecosystem based climate change adaptation approach (LbA/EbA) for the further specification of the SLM paradigm in the context of the CC.
