The paper is concerned with controllable multiple queuing systems when the control boils down to the periodical corrections of the number of switched service channels with a given period of correction. The corrections are required to allow for stochastic variations of the demand rate. Econometric characteristics are analyzed including mean profit (gain minus switching, queue and channel maintenance costs) and average customer waiting costs (for the impatient customer model). Equations are derived for synthesis of optimal strategies. Myopic switching strategies are constructed with respect to the above econometric characteristics. The term myopic means optimization just1-step ahead. The paper presents and discusses simulation results for control algorithms.
