The report compares the content of two terms indicating the same global-historical period. The term «The Great Acceleration» was proposed by Australian researcher Will Stephen in the early 2000s. It refers to the exponential growth of the anthropic impact on the ecosphere. According to Stephen, this period began in the second half of the twentieth century. The term «Scientific and technological Revolution» was promoted by marxist scholars after John Bernal`s «The Scientific and Industrial Revolutions» in «Science and History» (1954).
