Terra ColorAL and Copper ColorAL are distinctive two-step electrolytic colour anodising techniques that produce typical wood/earth and copper hues on aluminium surfaces. The processes are similar to the conventional methods for dyeing tin and achieve colourings ranging from light bronze, medium and dark bronze to black. The dispersion of certain metals, such as copper, results in characteristic shades with high colour stability. By varying the concentration, temperature, time, and acidity, interesting colour modifications can be attained, e.g. for facades. Existing equipment used for dyeing tin can be implemented for these anodising methods.
