Аннотация доклада:
The focus of this presentation lies in studying the issue of interpretation and representation of highly abstract conceptual units such as TIME and LOVE on the basis of ontological and structural metaphors that serve as a key to their understanding. As it is clear that only linguistic material can serve as a means of partial concept reconstruction, it is of primary importance that the verbalisations of conceptual metaphors existing in various types and genres of texts should be analysed. The research material, suitable for reaching its goals, constituted a number of mass media texts, as well as short stories by W.S. Maugham.
